I knew it was dangerous to be back on the island, but threats surrounded me from every angle in my life. What was the difference either way? A toddler that looked surprisingly like me was held in my strong arms. It was insane how she had grown. And how beautiful she had become. Any supernatural could tell she was not my child, though any Human would think otherwise. I had only had her for three days and she was still living, and surprisingly happy. I thought she could tell that something was missing though. It was often hard to console her at night. It was a good thing I didn't sleep or eat much, all my time was spent on making her happy. I was walking through the forest with this little girl in my arms. Setting her down I held her hand and slowly wandered, making sure I wasn't going too fast for her little legs. She was only a few days, maybe a little over a week old, and she had the appearance of a year old toddler. I couldn't help but wonder what life would be like for her. She couldn't ever go to school because it would be obvious how fast she was growing.
Slowing, I sat on the ground and watched little Anya wander, her eyes wide at the butterflies and other so called joys of life. I held no joy in life. But the little girl had lightened me up a little. Only to make me more serious because I was always worrying for her and my safety.

Roul flew over, high up into the air since he was only in half-shift. He hoped Jisa was alright. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about her since the last time he saw her for some reason, and though it confused he he couldn't help but worry about her. But now that he was scanning over the world below, using his special talents of course, and he spotted Jisa's familiar form. He also picked out another form, possibly hunter, but for now it was far enough away, if it didn't stalk in the right direction. He pulled his wings in, plummeting down at high speeds, pushing out at the last moment, pulling out of the dive and flapping, landing gracefully. He smiled his half-smile, looking towards jisa. "Hey kitty. Long time no hear," He said jokingly, yeah it sucked but hey, who cared? Then he noticed a little toddler with his kitty-cat. "You have a kid? Huh. I wouldn't have though you where that kind of girl, Jisa," He said, casually looking at the... toddler?... and cocking his head in curiousity.

Familiar wing beats reached my sensitive, human form, ears. My blue eyes glanced upwards as I caught the shape of Roul. It seemed that he was following me quite regularly at the moment. Slightly creepy seeing as my latest encounter with a Shifter, well it hadn't been appropriate company. Alas I had taken my eyes off of my stumbling toddler for too long, she had wandered off. Just as Roul landed, I noticed this, the words came out of his mouth and I gave him a 'one second' gesture. Grabbing Anya's little hand, I brought her back and stood in front of Roul. I truly looked like a young mother, flustered. Of course I wasn't. I laughed quietly at his 'Long time, no hear.' but soon stopped. I wasn't a happy person these days. Obviously I had forgotten that Roul could 'sense' people around better than me. He noticed my little Anya. Well apparently he believed I was that I was that type of girl.
"Anya... she's not really mine. Her mother said that she was too young to have a kid, and passed her off onto me and left."
I sighed as Anya got fed up of standing on her own. Picking her up I held her with one arm, resting some of her weight on my hip like a lot of mother did.

The mother was closer, she had followed the sent of Jisanna and Anya, she would be there in a day or two tops. Her ripped close blew in the breeze, and if any one was to interfere with her and her child, Stella would freak.. she was close, and she knew it.

Roul listened, then noded his head once, to show he believed her. "That explains it then," He said, suddenly realaxing. He hadn't really noticed how much it had bothered him that another guy had... been with Jisa. He looked around, as if he was looking for something, and indeed he was. another person had just came into range of his senses, and the first was getting closer. He turned back to the dark kitty, slightly nervous. "Let's go back to where I'm staying. This leg of the woods has far too many wolves for this little piggy," he said, starting to wonder waht was bothering Jisa. She wasn't her usual sarcastic self. usually she would be right up on him for asking where Anya came from.

I am dying slowly, inside. The fire in my heart has run out of fuel to run on and is steadily burning out. I guess that was the reason I didn't get on at Roul for asking me that question is because of that. I no longer provoke fights, or use sarcasm. I am often quiet and lost in nothingness. Thoughtful. Feeling Roul's sudden relaxation after I explained that Anya is not mine, I raise an eyebrow at him. Why should he care? No one except Stella cared about me. I was starting to question even that now. My senses weren't as sharp as usual, I was tired and I didn't make a point of stretching them out like normal. Shrugging I waited for Roul to lead the way, I could now feel the presence of the hunter.
"Lead the way Raven."
My weak attempt at my old attitude failed, instead of a sharp voice mine was quiet and dwindled off into barely a whisper.

Roul looked at Jisa confusedly, what was wrong? She wasn't herself. He hesitated for a moment, then reached forward to grab her hand, hoping she didn't snap out of it and knock his head off. "This way, it's pretty far but we'll get there sometime this evening," He said, worry in his eyes when he looked away from Jisa and began to gently pull her north, towards his and Kaala's treehouse. He'd have to as Jisa what was bothering her later, for now he would have to wait and be drivin crazy.

Just because I was burning out and forgetting what life really was like, did not mean I was going to be holding any guys hand, ever. I slipped my hand out of his gently though I didn't glare or kick his head in, but I followed the general direction he was going too. Little Anya was sleeping against me, so I had her weight all to myself. Wonderful. I had to be skeptical about a blind guy leading us away from a Hunter so I expanded my sensory range just to make sure. It wasn't that I didn't trust him, it was that I didn't trust his eye sight. There was a difference.
"That seems a bit of a trek just to get away from Hunters doesn't it?"
I ask him.

Roul didn't bother looking back at Jisa, instead concentrating on how many steps to take and trying to sense landmarks and such, but I still answered her. "Accually, it's only a long walk. If I could carry you and Anya, it would be another matter. It's a rather short flight from here," He said, tone unusually flat, not holding the usual life in it. To tell the truth, it stung when she pulled back, though he wouldn't had liked it if she had knocked his head off either.

Jisanna Elizabeth Taylor And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies.
I can feel the concentration coming off of Roul, I feel bad that I pulled back but it is just me. His answer made a whole lot more sense to me than before. I hope that Stella changes her mind soon, because having a child is a lot harder than it seems. It had already seemed difficult in the first place. Anya constantly needed feeding, rescue from various things and consolation. I nod at Roul but note that his voice is as flat as mine, if I were in my panther state then I would have my ears laid back in confusion.
"I see."
